TUBI AND KICKSTARTER PARTNER TO BRING INDEPENDENT FILMS TO MILLIONS OF VIEWERS

New Slate of 20+ Kickstarter-Funded Films Launching Exclusively on Tubi this Fall

San Francisco, CA –  June 12, 2025 – Tubi (www.tubitv.com), Fox Corporation’s (NASDAQ: FOXA, FOX) free ad-supported streaming service, has partnered with Kickstarter on a unique strategic partnership to bring over 20 Kickstarter funded films to Tubi’s platform for an exclusive period. Tubi reaches over 97 million monthly active users and offers free, premium entertainment through the world’s largest collection of on-demand movies and TV episodes, including hundreds of culturally resonant originals. This partnership empowers Kickstarter filmmakers by providing them access to Tubi’s large and growing audience, who can look forward to discovering over 20 fan-supported films, available on Tubi this Fall.

“We’re excited to bring Kickstarter creatives and the communities who support them to Tubi’s audience of nearly 100 million viewers,” said Anjali Sud, CEO at Tubi. “Tubi is becoming the home for the next generation of Hollywood talent. Whether we’re bringing crowd-funded films onto the platform, turning a Wattpad novel into a movie or putting the power to green-light in the hands of the fans – we are expanding the pathways for creators to grow their audience and adding greater diversity and differentiation to our content offering.”

The films selected by Kickstarter and Tubi to come onto the platform will reflect genres that uniquely resonate with Tubi  fandoms. In addition to providing distribution and discovery for the slate, Tubi will invest into the FilmStream Collective Fund – available exclusively to filmmakers on Kickstarter – to support films in need of funding to complete their films. Kickstarter and Tubi will pledge directly to 10 Kickstarter campaigns to help meet the selected campaigns’ funding goals. These titles will be exclusively available on Tubi for the first 3 months.

“Our mission has always been to help people bring their creative projects to life,” said Everette Taylor, Kickstarter’s Chief Executive Officer. “Fulfilling that mission means reaching beyond our core crowdfunding service finding aligned partners like Tubi who want to collaborate on reducing the barriers that stand in the way of creatives bringing their ideas to life. Together, we’re building a new opportunity for filmmakers to share their work with global audiences and get the visibility they deserve.”

Since 2009, Kickstarter has been a launchpad for thousands of independent films — including Oscar nominees and winners, Sundance selections, and other critically acclaimed projects. More than 34,000 films have successfully raised funds on Kickstarter including projects from filmmakers like Nia DaCosta, Matthew A. Cherry, Ali Abbasi, and Alex Cox.

This partnership is a part of Tubi’s broader programming strategy to develop, license and acquire premium programming and creator projects that serve fandoms and resonate with young, multicultural audiences. This includes  breaking down barriers to Hollywood through partnerships with The Blacklist, independent distributors and the launch of Stubios, the first fan-fueled studio in streaming that puts the power of the green light in the hands of the fans.
